Superfood Matcha Latte Recipe

Happy Sunday, Friends!

It has been far too long since I’ve posted anything here and it’s been driving me crazy — I promise I will be back more consistently in the coming weeks with some really fun new content. A few weeks ago I hosted a workshop at Take Care Shop all about Adaptogens + Superfoods and we made some superfood lattes together using some of nature’s most incredibly healing + potent foods.

One of the recipes, and probably the one I follow the most at home, is this adaptogen-laced matcha latte. It’s the perfect caffeinated pick-me-up without the huge jolt of shaky energy that can often come with drinking coffee and I find it to be one of my favorite afternoon rituals these days. Matcha is a powder made of finely ground green tea leaves that has more than 10x the nutritional benefits of steeped green tea leaves and is an antioxidant-filled powerhouse. See the recipe below and give it a try at home!

Superfood Matcha Latte Recipe

1 tsp. matcha green tea powder (I love Panatea Matcha)
1/2 cup hot water (keep the temperature at or below 180º F)
1/4 cup warm nut milk of choice
1 tsp. coconut butter (this is my favorite)
1/2 tbsp. honey

Optional Superfoods I Like To Add

1/2 tsp. moringa for a high concentration of vitamins + nutrients
1/2 tsp. ashwagandha for stress management
1 tbsp. collagen peptides for skin + joint health

Directions

1. heat water + nut milk on the stovetop or in a milk warmer until it reaches 180º F (we have this and love it)
2. place all remaining ingredients (matcha, coconut butter, honey, and any other superfoods) in a high speed blender (we love our vitamix)
3. add hot water + milk to the high speed blender and blend on high for about 30 seconds until it becomes frothy
4. pour and enjoy!
