We're Having A Baby!
I've never been one to keep a secret for very long, but I've been keeping my biggest one yet for the last few months and I am so excited to shout from the rooftops that we are having a baby! Motherhood is something I've dreamed of ever since I was a little girl and I can barely believe the time is finally here.
I am due at the end of September (the 29th to be exact) and while we don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, we do know that it is going to be the most loved and cherished baby, not only by us but also by our families and friends. It is the first grandchild on both sides so to say our parents are thrilled is a complete understatement.
These last couple of months have been filled with a lot of excitement, nerves and every other emotion in between (hello, hormones!) but I'm grateful to be feeling really, really good right now. I had two weeks of extreme nausea and fatigue where I survived off of plain bagels and a lot of naps, but that all seemed to pass pretty quickly and, other than a few days where I can barely stay awake (growing another human is exhausting!), I'm feeling like myself!
I've never thought of myself as a fearful or worry-filled person, but I must admit that the hardest part of the last couple of months has been the extreme anxiety and fear that comes along with not knowing whether or not the baby is healthy and if the pregnancy will "stick". I have quite a few friends and peers who have struggled to get and stay pregnant, and knowing that miscarriage is always a possibility was a very hard reality for me to cope with. I've learned the importance of trusting in something larger than myself and breathing through my fears and worries.

I spent a large majority of last year diving into research about hormones, preconception health and fertility to best prepare my body for this experience, so you can expect some more detailed blog posts over the upcoming weeks and months about exactly what I started doing differently and how it's helped me through this process. I also plan on taking on more health coaching clients that are hoping to take charge of their hormones and fertility now that I have have a much better understanding of the process and it's intricacies (and am going through it myself!).
I've been so quiet on the blog (and newsletter - I promise it's coming back!) due to this pretty large distraction, but I have some fun events and posts in the works and am excited for a busy Spring ahead!
